when thinking of a breach loading design i came up with was a coated PVC 40mm pipe for the barrel, and a wooden handle/grip made in two halves, so the trigger/gears can be housed in one side, then the other side can be attatched over the top. Or a solid wood handle drilled out could work but would be harder to install. Spring loaded catch for the pipe would be affective and easy to make.

I have also just purchased a sight, more info on that little mystery at the next games i like having surprises but needless to say once that things zeroed i'm gonna have some fun with this new toy, two attachments down just a RIS mounted rocket proppeled chainsaw laucher thats causing the problems...

what size/direction is your silencer thread? are you trying to make the muzzle report quieter or the gear box? being more specific would help grrr better not be an ACOG

gearbox silencer, got an external already one already a tokyo maurai steal only cost me £10. My sight will remain a secret until the next game, i'll just say that ive zeroed it and it can pretty much score a head shot everytime at a decent distance. I NEED TO GO AGAIN DAMN THE EXAMS TO HELL!!!

oo you know if you get a decent shot i may have to you come for a SF training session then run some, i need some decent shooters to rely on. anyway, onwards and upwards kids! oooo quieter gearbox. OK now for a physics theory lesson. the main cause for noise in a gearbox of anytime is friction, the friction of the gears on the shell and between the gears themselves the vibration that follows is the noise we all hear. Even bolt rifles, the main cause of noise is the friction between parts. so the whole idea you need to grasp is reducing the parts tenancy to vibrate. i wouldn't personally recommend you take the gearbox itself apart unless you know what you are doing, but a good clean and lube goes a long way to increase life when you start any mods. to reduce vibrations you need a soft material that can be made into strips and easily stuck to a surface. If you look inside the barrel of my M40 you will find blue 'jay-cloth' around the inner barrel, this is the main cause for reduced noise in my rife, another is packing the stock and hand guard in the same way. loosely packing mind you tho, anything tight will have less effect. Basically, if your confident you can dismantle the entire AEG and pad it out so that the working parts are still free to move, go for it, the effect on electric guns isn't so great, but it helps.

still going to be my shooter? maybe. depends if you think your up for it. ill test you at some point. and as for the silencing, dont do anything your unsure of, ill have a gander if you like. the only way you can really get it right is with two people anyway, iv learnt that from experiance.
